Service drop cable

Quadruplex

Application:

Utilized for delivering 3-phase power, typically from a pole-mounted transformer to the user's service head, where the connection to the service entrance cable is established. Designed for voltages of 600 volts or less phase to phase, with conductor temperatures not exceeding 75°C for polyethylene-insulated conductors or 90°C for crosslinked polyethylene (XLP) insulated conductors.

product features:

The conductors consist of compressed 1350-H19 aluminum, stranded in a concentric fashion. The insulation is either polyethylene or crosslinked polyethylene (XLP). The neutral messengers are stranded concentrically and can be made of 6201, AAC, or ACSR.

Standards:

The service drop cable complies with or surpasses the specified ASTM standards:

  • Specified sizes correspond to the ACSR 6/1 diameter equivalent resistivity as per ASTM-B-399 for 6201.
  • Conductor temperature is 90°C for XLP and 75°C for Poly; ambient temperatures are at 40°C; emissivity is 0.9; with a sun-exposed wind speed of 2ft/sec.
  • For determining the current ampacity based on conductor size, refer to the most recent edition of The National Electric Code.
  • The information is an approximation and is subject to standard manufacturing tolerances.
